The Board of Directors of the Hurley Camp Fund is currently exploring the possibility of sponsoring a Foster Child for an “HCF” scholarship summer camp experience.
The Board has received a substantial financial gift in memory of our founding board member Susan Fleischer. Susan herself, was a Foster Child who was a Camp Hurley camper and counselor during the 1960s.
She always felt that her Camp Hurley experience was a life changing experience. As a result she became a founding member of the Board of Directors in order to allow for additional deserving under privileged children to experience a Camp Hurley summer. To share the experiences of diversity, inclusion, camaraderie, singing, swimming, arts & crafts, overnight outdoor camping and all the rest of a complete “camping trip” in the country!
Susan was a Professor of Psychology at Queens College of New York for many years - beloved by her students. Upon her passing Mark Greenblatt, her life partner, made a donation in her name to the Hurley Camp Fund for the express purpose of identifying a Foster Child whom the Board could sponsor for a scholarship to camp.
We look forward to working on identifying a Foster Child as a candidate to send to camp. Any suggestions and recommendations for identifying foster children would be welcomed by the Board.

Greetings to all from the founders of The Hurley Camp Fund. We are a group of about 100 people who initiated this fund in 1991, and who are bound by a single experience: time spent, and memories closely held, by our time in Camp Hurley in the 1950s and 1960s. We have one purpose - to raise money for scholarships to send children ages 8-15 years old to camp so that they may enjoy a similar, life changing experience.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR DONATION
